Thiru completed her Bachelor of Economic Science degree at the University of the Witwatersrand and is a qualified actuary. Thiru is currently a member of the OMCC EXCO team, having joined Old Mutual in November 2017. She has 24 years’ experience within the financial services industry; which were served within actuarial and investment consulting roles at Towers Watson and NMG Benefits; and within a business and product development role at Allan Gray. Thiru has been extensively involved in retirement fund valuation and the provision of investment advice to pension funds. She has also assisted many clients with the development of member communication programs and the implementation of best practice governance requirements. Thiru served as the Valuator to both public and private sector Funds based in Namibia during her tenure at NMG Consultants and Actuaries. In her current role, she advises pension fund boards on member-centric benefit design, risk and governance frameworks.
